Installation:
Begin by downloading VisualTrader.ex4 from here….
Next, save the file to your experts folder in Metatrader.
Restart MetaTrader.
Once in Metatrader, click View --- Navigator
Expand the Expert Advisors section…. You should see VisualTrader in the list.
Drag and drop Visual Trader to the chart.
Once the script runs for the first time (the tic has to move) it will create all the lines.
Right click on the chart and select Expert Advisors and then Properties
version: current version of the script
lots: the number of lots to trade
i_slip: the maxium amount of slippage you want to accept on a trade
maxTrades: (safety feature) the maximum number of trades before the script does not trade
maxVTTrades: (safety feature) a redundant safety that will shut off the script if the maximum number of VisualTrader trades has been reached
Usage:
VisualTrader allows you to trade directly from the charts by changing the line styles in Metatrader.
Buy / Sell / and Close orders are triggered when the price hits that level.
Buy / Sell Orders:
Let’s create a practice buy order. Make sure it’s on a demo account!
Right click on the Buy line, and select horizontal line properties.
Change the line Style to solid and click OK.
When the tick hits this solid green line it will trigger a buy order. You can move the line at anytime (line it up w/ resistance levels etc)
To setup a Sell order, do the same thing with the Sell line.
Close All / Close Half / Alerts:
= Close Half of the most recent position
= No Action assigned
= Send the default Metatrader Alert when hit… this can be a audio alert, email, alert or SMS – from email
= Reset, will move with price action
